Tribhuvan Airport - Kathmandu

Most visitors to Nepal enter the country via Tribhuvan Airport. Internal flights to Lukla for the Everest trek and Pokhara and Jomosom for the Annapurna treks also depart from Tribhuvan.

On arrival foreign visitors have to fill in an immigration form and queue for the official to stamp their passport. You then have the worrying time of waiting for luggage to appear on one of the carousels. You then simply walk out of the airport building into the throng of locals hoping to entice you to the hotel thet they are representing.

When leaving Nepal you have to pay 700rp departure tax, don't forget to put this amount to one side whilst you are souvenir hunting at the end of your holiday!
